The volcanic soil of Guatemala’s Huehuetenango region nourishes dense, flavour-packed coffee beans. Grown among erupting cones, they develop complex but balanced tastes of ripe berries, nut and chocolate. Harvested with care, each bean attains a rare, nuanced profile for your cup.

Guatemala Huehuetenango Soji Coffee

Guatemala Huehuetenango, these coffee beans originate from the western highlands of Guatemala in the region of Huehuetenango. Grown at altitudes 1,600m above sea level, the climate is perfect for Arabica coffee cultivation. Cool temperatures and frequent mist or fog means the coffee cherries mature slowly, resulting in beans with complex flavours. When harvested, the red coffee cherries are pulped, washed and sun dried on raised beds preserving the beans’ flavour attributes.

The end result is coffee with tasting notes of chocolate, nutty, creamy and berries undertones. Huehuetenango coffee has a fruity and smooth body with complex aromas and flavours that coffee connoisseurs enjoy for its balanced body and acidity. The volcanic soil in Huehuetenango is extremely fertile and well-drained, the dense, clay-like soil and cool temperatures allowing just the right amount of nutrients to feed the coffee plants.

Local farmers tend to the coffee fields and trees by hand, ensuring optimal growing conditions. This level of care produces small yields but high quality beans, seasonal harvest
